The Commander, Security Forces-West, Major General D. M. K. D. B. Pussella RWP RSP in order to receive an update of the Army's contribution to the forthcoming State Vesak Festival visited 'Sri Rathanasiri Nahimi Maha Pirivena' in Kaballewa, Chilaw and inspected the Army's arrangements and preparations on account of the state ceremony as per directions given by Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army.
This year's State Vesak Festival-2023 is scheduled from 03 to 09 May 2023 at the above premises to be in line with the instructions of the Presidential Secretariat, Ministry of Buddha Sasana and District Secretariat for Puttalam.
During the visit, the West Commander passed down necessary instructions to the responsible officers regarding relevant duties and different assigned tasks that were recommended by the Commander of the Army in order to make the event successful.
The West Commander also called on the chief incumbent of the Sri Rathanasiri Nahimi Maha Pirivena and shared views on the conduct of the State Vesak Festival smoothly.
Brigadier Admin and Quartering of the Security Force HQ- West, Brigade Commander 143 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer, 16 Gajaba Regiment and several senior officers were present during his visit to the location.
