Certificate awarding ceremony of the ‘Ranaviru Sampath Kendraya’ (Resource Centre for Disable War Heroes) at Hendala Wattala for those successfully completed the Horticulture and Mobile Phone Technology Course No 2, got underway at the ‘Ranaviru Resource Centre’ (RRC) on Wednesday (26).
The RRC came into being as a proposal made to the Army by Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary to Ministry of Defence and Urban Development who wanted a degree of vocational training be imparted to those partly disable War Heroes as a helping hand to them.
Major General A.S de Z Wickramaratne, Director Rehabilitation as the Chief Guest attending the certificate awarding ceremony, extended his best wishes to the recipients soon after they were awarded.
Officials of the Vocational Training Authority, Commandant, RRC, Brigadier W.H.M Manathunga, Commandant, Ranaviru Sevana Rehabilitation Centre at Ragama, instructors and a large gathering of invitees attended the event.
