The annual sand-laying ceremony around the historic Ruwanweli Maha Seya covering about 800 sq meter in the 'Weli Maluwa” got underway during 3-5 March 23 with the support of 21 Infantry Division and Forward Maintenance Area (North and Central) troops who laboured to make the project a success.
More than 250 troops participated in this meritorious project over three days as per directions given by the Commander, Security Forces-Wanni Major General Champaka Ranasinghe. The Chief Incumbent coordinated and guided the project.
Senior officers, Officers and devotees also participated in the project.
