Security Force HQ-Wanni, taking one more step further as regards their construction of houses for the underprivileged vested troops-built another new house for a poor family living in Adiranigama, Ihala Halmillewa, Eppawala on Wednesday (6) during a simple ceremony.
Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri, Commander, Security Forces-Wanni as the day's Chief Guest handed over the keys of the new home to the beneficiary, Mr W A Upul Wanasooriyaarachchi in the presence of a group of officers, relatives of the recipient villagers and 7 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) troops, including the project's coordinator, Colonel Anil Peiris, Commander 212 Brigade who has been the driving-force behind the house construction project in the Wanni.
Australia-based Mr Preethi Gajanayake through personal contacts sponsored to construct this house with all necessary amenities. The troops of 7 SLAC enthusiastically completed the project considering the humanitarian plight of this helpless family. The newly-constructed house was comprised of a sitting area, dining room, bedrooms, washroom, kitchen, etc and all essential household items, electric appliances and furniture gifted by the same sponsor.
