Expanding its community development roles further, on a suggestion of the Commander Security Forces-Wanni, Major General Hemantha Bandara , a foundation stone to construct one more house for the low-income single-parent family of Mrs Moganraj Maheshwari in Asikulam GN Division, Vavuniya was laid on 25th September 2021in order to raise their living standards.
It is to be built under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 56 Division, supervised by the 562 Brigade and 17 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops have volunteered to erect this home for this helpless family and is sponsored by Mr M Mayoorathan, Director Safety Credit (Pvt) Ltd.
Major General Laksiri Perera, General Officer Commanding 56 Division participated in the inauguration as the Chief Guest of this ceremony.
Rev Pastor at Sidambarapuram church, Commander 562 Brigade Brigadier Senaka Premawansa, Commanding Officer 17 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Samurdhi Officer, Development Officer and Grama Niladhari attended the foundation-stone laying ceremony, adhering to health guidelines.
