Following an initiative of the Commander Security Forces-Wanni Major General Jagath Gunawardena, troops in the Security Force Headquarters -Wanni to be in line with the island-wide 'Wana Ropa' and the Army 'Thuruliyawenuwen Api' projects planted 100 'Kumbuk' saplings inside the camp premises of the Headquarters on Thursday (24 October).
Sri Lanka Army covering all formations has planned to organize tree planting campaigns inside all camp premises of all island-wide military establishments during 21-31 October. 'Kumbuk' planting in the HQ got underway with the participation of the Brigadier General Staff Brigadier Harendra Ranasinghe, together with Brigadier Administration and Quartering of the Headquarters Security Forces- Wanni, Colonel Jayanath Randeniya. They planted the first two saplings commencing the tree planting programme of the day. All staff members of the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) followed suit afterwards.
The planted saplings will be closely looked after till they grow taller until they adjust themselves to prevailing hard climatic conditions in the region. bridge media | Nike Running
