Wanni School Students Get 1000 Pairs of Shoes with Army Initiative

The Amboen Holding PLC in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Army conducted a distribution of school shoes among 1000 needy students in remote areas of Mahawilachchiya and Nochchiyagama divisional secretariat areas during 7- 8 April covering nine schools with the intention of encouraging students for learning.

The main event of the two-day programme got underway on 07 April 2021 at Mahawilachchiya, track 3, Gamini Vidyalaya premises under the patronage of the General Officer Commanding 21 Division, Major General Vikum Liyanage and the former Chief of Staff in the Sri Lanka Army, Major General Channa Gunathilaka (Retired) where students received shoes.

On the following day (8), rest of the students were awarded their shoes in 8 schools. This community-oriented programme was implemented according to a suggestion of the Commander Security Forces- Wanni, Major General Hemantha Bandara.

Arrangements were made under the guidance of the Commander, 213 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K.A.N Rasika Kumara. The Amboen Holding PLC with the coordination of Major General Channa Gunathilaka (Retired) sponsored the supply of those 1000 pairs of shoes to needy students.

The event was organized by 5 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops under the supervision of the Commanding Officer Major S.D Ratnasiri. The Vice President of Ambeon Holding PLC Mr Sajeewa Narangoda and Group Head of Corporate Communication, Ms Shakila Kamalendiran, the Principal, Staff of Gamini Vidyalaya and a group of Officers and Other Ranks took part in distributing programmes. best Running shoes | nike fashion
