COMMANDER, Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) Major General Jagath Jayasuriya visited two rehabilitation centers established by the government to rehabilitate former LTTE cadres surrendered to the Security Forces Saturday (4) morning. He was accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Jagath Rathnayaka, Brigade Commander 211 Brigade and representatives from Unicef.
One of the centers in Poonthottam, Vavuniya accommodates former LTTE child soldiers and the other one in Pampemadu, Vavuniya accommodates former women LTTE cadres. During his visit Wanni Commander inspected the facilities provided for those centers and discussed requirements with the authorities and detainees and gave necessary instructions to the officers in charge of those centers. He also raised matters pertaining to Unicef cooperation, etc.
