A selected set of students from low-income group families in Nandhimithragama, off Vavuniya on an initiative taken by the Security Forces - Wanni on Monday (23) received school bags, books, stationery, accessories and school essentials, sponsored by the founder of the 'Sooriya Dharuwo' Foundation in Kegalle, headed by the Chief Incumbent of Alulena Raja Maha Viharaya, Ven Aththangoda Somawansha Thero.
The Civil Affairs Officer in the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni, Lieutenant Colonel G.A.L Kithsiri using his own resources coordinated the worthy cause. The programme was organized by 563 Brigade troops on the instructions of the 563 Brigade Commander and under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of the 56 Division, Major General Jaliya Senarathne.
During the programme, 563 Brigade troops provided all students and their parents with a sumptuous lunch.
