Major General Hussain Mumtaz, General Officer Commanding, Special Service Group (SSG) of the Pakistan Army who had arrived here to watch the just-concluded Exercise ‘Cormorant Strike X - 2019’ of the Army called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva at the Army Headquarters on Wednesday (25) along with the Defence Attaché at the High Commission of Pakistan and a few senior Officers of the Pakistan Army.
Cordial discussions between the two senior Army Officers during the meet focused on the successful completion of the recent Exercise and mock operations, for which the Pakistan Army troops also contributed. They both recalled sound and very strong military ties and cooperation that both countries have been maintaining since 1960s and Sri Lanka’s uninterrupted exchange of military training programmes with the Army in Pakistan.
Paying a glittering tribute to all encouraging gestures of the Pakistan Army, the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva presented a memento to the visiting Major General Hussain Mumtaz.
