A Norwegian delegation, comprised of Mr. Tore Hattrem, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and Mr. Thorbjorn Gaustadsaether, Ambassador of Norway in Sri Lanka during a tour to the Jaffna peninsula visited the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) and had a brief exchange of views with the Commander, SF-J, Major General Mahesh Senanayake on Wednesday (1) at his office in Palaly, Jaffna.
During the cordial meeting, Major General Senanayake presented a brief account on the current security status, fast developing civil administration system and military endeavours on the reconciliation process in the peninsula to the visiting delegates, Mr Tore Hattrem and Mr Thorbjorn Gaustadsaether, in Sri Lanka.
Towards the culmination of the friendly interaction, Major General Senanayake presented them with mementos as symbols of goodwill and memory.
Appreciating the Army role on reconciliation process in the peninsula visiting delegates signed up the visitors’ book at the SF Commander’s Office before their exit.
