Visit to ‘Abhimansala - 1’ by Army Chief

On account of the forthcoming Army Anniversary, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, along with Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), visited the ‘Abhimansala - 1’ wellness resort in Anuradhapura to inquire about the wellbeing of War Heroes undergoing rehabilitation.

The Chief Guest received a warm welcome from Brigadier K.D.U Karunaratna RSP USP, the Commandant of ‘Abhimansala - 1’ and proceeded to visit the wards, engaging with each differently-abled War Hero. During the visit, the Army Chief presented gift parcels containing essential items to the recipients.

After a while, Army Chief and other dignitaries pose for a group photograph and sat together with injured War Heroes to have lunch. Mementoes were presented to both the Commander of the Army and the President of ASVU during the event.

The day’s proceedings culminated with the signing of the visitors' book by the Commander of the Army before his departure.

Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Principal Staff Officers, Security Force Commanders, Directors, Senior Officers and several Officers participated in the visit.
