Colonel of the Regiment Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) in response to a request made by Ministry of Defence and Urban Development has assured support of 1, 4 and 5 Battalions of VIR troops for construction of a herbal garden in the surroundings of the parliament at Baththaramulla.
Observation at the herbal garden being mentioned at the VIR Headquarters Boyagane, the Secretary Defence and Urban Development has extended this request to the VIR Colonial of the Regiment.
After specific land area was allocated to the VIR, 100 of troops serving 01, 04 and 05 VIR, commenced their work and completed it within a few month.
The VIR has been throwing its weight behind the government Colombo beautification projects.
