VIR Troops Extend Honours to Visiting Indian PM

Troops of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) contributed to the special Guard of Honour, held in honour of the visiting Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi who arrived in Sri Lanka this morning (9).

3 Officers and 72 Other Ranks despite rains joined the salute in accordance with military traditions at the Presidential Secretariat premises this morning (9) when the Indian head of state received the honours.

Together with the visiting Indian Prime Minister, HE the President Maithripala Sirisena was also on stage at the special dais. A 19 rounds of gun salute honoured the visiting Indian Prime Minister.

Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Chief of Staff, Major General Shavendra Silva, Adjutant General, Major General Jayantha Seneviratne and Director Personnel Administration, Brigadier Jayanath Jayaweera were present at the welcome ceremony. jordan release date | Sneakers Nike
