VIR Felicitates Newly Promoted Major General

The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) hosted a ceremony on 30 November 2024 at the VIR Regimental Centre, Boyagane, to felicitate the newly promoted Major General K.D.M.L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc, Director General Training, Army Headquarters.

Upon his arrival, the Senior Officer was accorded a Guard Turnout in accordance with military traditions. Subsequently, he paid tribute to fallen VIR War Heroes by laying floral wreaths at the War Heroes Monument and PWV Monument. A Guard of Honour followed, further marking the occasion.

The programme continued with an all-ranks tea gathering at the men's club, where the Colonel of the Regiment VIR presented a memento to the Senior Officer. In his address, Major General K.D.M.L Samaradiwakara RWP RSP ndc psc expressed his gratitude to all ranks for their efforts in organising the event.
