50 students of low-income group families at Velvettithurai Chithambaram College through the Army coordination were the recipients of school bags, thanks to the generous support extended by UK-based ‘Chesnut Foundation’.
Dr. Nadeeth Kaushalya, the Chief Executive Officer of the charity organization offered those incentives through the coordination of Lieutenant P.A.T.C Thilakarathne, 11 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the 521 Infantry Brigade of the 52 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ - Jaffna.
The distribution of those incentives took place on Friday (25 August) at the school premises, attended by the principal, teachers and parents.
This project was executed in accordance with the directives of the Commander, 521 Infantry Brigade and instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 52 Infantry Division. Civil Affairs Officer, 521 Infantry Brigade, as well as officers and other ranks participated in the distribution.
