Coordination done by the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) enabled villagers of Veheratenna, Konwewa, Veherawewa, Kambiliwewa and Kohombagaswewa receive incentives and agricultural equipment as donations with sponsorships, made available by ‘Sri Lanka Red Cross Society’, ‘Hadabima Authority’ and ‘Loadstar (Pvt) Ltd’.
A brief ceremony at 26 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment camp premises, close to Veheratenna village gave away two tilling hand tractors, manufactured by Browns Company Limited to the Veheratenna Farmers’ Organization on Thursday (25). On the same occasion, 300 packs of agrarian instruments, containing mammoties, shovels, forks, rakes, etc were distributed among 300 Veheratenna families, following sponsorship, extended by the ‘Hadabima’ authority. Each pack was valued at Rs 2650.00.
On the same day, Wanni troops coordinated the distribution of 20 water tanks of 1000 litre among villagers of Veheratenna, Konwewa, Veherawewa, Kambiliwewa and Kohombagaswewa under the patronage of ‘Loadstar (Pvt) Ltd’ in Kotugoda in a separate donation ceremony, organized by the 62 Division.
Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W) attended these ceremonies as the Chief Guest at the invitation of Brigadier K.G.D Perera, General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, together with several representatives of the sponsors.
