Students learning in 13 Tamil, Muslim and Sinhala schools in Vavuniya, following a programme initiated by 211 Brigade, received Self-development and Leadership Training during a two-day workshop, sponsored by Organization for Development of Sinhala Women.
The workshop on 21 - 22 October 2011 was coordinated by the Civil Affairs office of the 211 Brigade on the instructions of its Commander, Brigadier P.M.S.A Pallemulla and conducted at Vavuniya Tamil Maha Vidyalaya with the support of the zonal educational office in Vavuniya. 125 students from 13 schools attended the workshop.
Training modules covered communication and assertiveness, performance and image, career planning, leadership, child abuse, civil law, project management, networking, etc.
A special panel of experts, led by Mrs Indrani Iriyagolla contributed to the workshop during both days.
