School students in the Vavuniya Educational Zone recently received a three-day training in first aid and nursing care during a workshop, held at Vavuniya, Periyakomarshakulam Vidyalayam.
211 Brigade Headquarters in coordination with St. John’s Ambulance Service organized the programme. The ambulance service sponsored the programme at a cost of about Rs 50,000/=. Over 120 students took part in the arrangement during all three-days.
Assistant Commissioner of the St. John’s Ambulance Service Mr. Sarath Nandakumara, Vice Principal of Periyakomarshakulam Vidyalayam, 211 Brigade Commander, 211 Brigade Civil Affairs Officer and several senior officers attended the inauguration.
