With the intention of further promoting standards of knowledge among Daham teachers in the Vavuniya province, Singapore Maha Bodhi Karuna organization in coordination with the 211 Brigade Headquarters under the Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W) recently conducted a full-day workshop at Vavuniya Bodhidakshinaramaya.
175 teachers teaching in Daham schools across the province at the end of the day’s workshop received Sinhala - English dictionaries each plus some uniform sets.
Members of the Maha Bodhi Karuna organization and Colonel J.A.H.M Jayasuriya, Commander, 211 Brigade and a large gathering of students attended the final ceremonial stage of the workshop.
Meanwhile, the same Maha Bodhi Karuna organization donated laptops to nine Vavuniya students who scored the highest in the GCE A/L - 2011 examination during a seminar organized for 170 Grade - 5 students sitting the scholarship examination.
The ceremony at Mathawaithyakulam Shenchulan Educational Centre saw distribution of Sinhala - English dictionaries among the attendees.
