Variety of Features & Choirs Colour Annual Christmas Carols of the Air Force

The Sri Lanka Air Force Christmas Carols 2021, organized and presented by the Seva Vanitha Unit of the Sri Lanka Air Force got underway on Monday (20) evening at Attidiya Eagle’s Lake Hotel, attended by the Chief Guest, First Lady, Mrs Ioma Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence, General Kamal Gunarathne (Rtd) and Mrs Chithrani Gunarathne, Chairperson, Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva and Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit, Commander of the Navy and his spouse, Commander of the Air Force and his spouse and a gathering of invitees, made up of Air Force personnel and family members.

Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana and Mrs Chamini Pathirana, Chairperson, Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit cordially welcomed the Chief Guest and all invitees to the occasion.

The event featured the choir of the Air Force and its band which saw the invitees enjoying the tunes of the Air Force Choir.

The Governor of the Western Province, Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonatilleke and Mrs Nelun Goonatilleke, the Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit to the Ministry of Defence, Mrs. Chithrani Gunaratne together with the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, General Kamal Gunaratne (Rtd), the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva and Mrs. Sujeeva Nelson, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne and Mrs. Chandima Ulugetenne, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Members of the Air Force Board of Management with their spouses, were among the distinguished invitees this year.

This year’s Air Force Christmas Carols was held with restricted participation due to the COVID-19 situation in the country and rapid antigen tests were carried out on all invitees as well, in order to prevent any unexpected situations.
