Vaddakachchi Family, Latest Recipient of Army-built New House in Kilinochchi

The family of Mrs Sivasamy Muththu in Periyakulam, Vaddakachchi in Kilinochchi was the latest beneficiary of a new house, built by troops of the Security Force HQ-Kilinochchi under the ongoing house construction project for needy families in Kilinochchi.

Intending to uplift their living standards and promote reconciliation, goodwill and harmony, all SFHQs around the country as per guidelines given by the Army Chief are committed to erect homes for the homeless with the support of private donors and troops.

The Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Major General Harendra Ranasinghe as the Chief Guest attended the inaugural warming ceremony of this new house at Vaddakkachchi on Tuesday (13) and vested it in the family. Sponsorship for raw materials were provided by few philanthropists.

During the simple warming ceremony, the beneficiary was gifted with household equipment, dry ration packs and fresh vegetables, sponsored by 6 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops in a bid to support the deserving project. Technical and enginnering manpower expertise assistance for the construction work was also provided by 6 SLSR troops under the guidance of the 57 Division General Officer Commanding, Major General Priyantha Jayawardana and Commander 572 Brigade Brigadier Nishantha Muthumala.

Major General Ranasinghe commended the troops for their construction skills and appreciated their hard work for the benefit of a needy family.

General Officer Commanding 57 Division Major General Priyantha Jayawardana, senior officers at Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi, Officers and Other Ranks also participated in the event, adhering to all Covid19 preventive measures.
