Lieutenant Colonel E.A.A.S Edirisinghe, Editor of Ranaviruwa Magazine of the Directorate of Psychological Operations was also invited to the Ratmalana University of Vocational Technology (UOVT)-organized “Ahas Miyesiya” project on Wednesday (31 May) at the University premises.
The purpose of the discourse of this nature was to discuss possibilities for conflict prevention, resolution and sustaining peace since Sri Lanka experienced adverse effects due to the civil war that prolonged in Sri Lanka for three decades.
Several scholars namely, Professor Dharshana Ashoka Kumara, the Senior Lecturer at Kotelawala Defence University, Mr. Sudesh Kavishwara, Lecturer of University of Kelaniya and Mr. Gayan Madushanka, Lecturer of University of Vocational Technology, gave their immense assistance to successfully conduct this event.
This is the first time in the history that a University organized an event of this nature to discuss war history and literature. The Army coordinated the symposium.
The academic and non-academic staff and students of the University participated and enjoyed the event.
