US Army Pacific Command Officers Call on Army Chief

Major General Chris Smith, Deputy Commanding General - Strategy and Plans of the U.S. Army Pacific Command (USARPAC), located at Fort Shafter in Hawaii, together with Lieutenant Colonel Anthony C. Nelson, Defence Attaché of the US Embassy in Colombo, Major Benjamin Flores, Major Omar Cavalier and Captain Caitlin Pennicooke paid a sudden visit on Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters on Thursday (16 November).

During the cordial interaction that ensued, the Army Chief and the delegation exchanged views on current security concerns in the Asian Pacific region, expansion of bilateral training opportunities and benefits and other matters of general concern for both organizations.

At the conclusion of the discussion, an exchange of mementoes that signifies the goodwill and understanding that prevails between the Sri Lanka Army and the USARPAC took place.

Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Director General General Staff (DGGS) was also associated with the cordial meeting.
