HE Alaina B Teplitz, the newly-appointed Ambassador of the United States of America in Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake on Thursday (28) at the Army Headquarters, Colombo.
The cordial meet that ensued after she was welcomed by Major General Ajith Wijesinghe, Military Secretary at the entrance to the Commander’s Secretariat focused on the Army's reconciliation mechanism, humanitarian civil-military projects, nation-building, land release and contribution to development projects, etc.
Towards the end of the friendly meeting, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake presented a memento to the envoy as a token of goodwill and understanding.
Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the United States of America in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Douglas Hess and an official of the US embassy in Colombo were also present during the courtesy visit.
