US Admiral, Keynote Speaker to the Defence Seminar Sessions Shares Few Thoughts on His Experiences

The keynote speaker to the Defence Seminar sessions at Colombo BMICH, Admiral William J. Fallon (Retd), US Navy, this afternoon (28) on the sidelines of the proceedings had a cordial discussion with his host, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake at the VIP suite.

Admiral William J. Fallon (Retd), US Navy during cordial discussions with Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army, shared a few thoughts on his experiences during his service in the US and touched on the subject of ‘Violent Extremism’, taking a different perspective in his quest for ‘peace techniques’.

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake recalled how the humanitarian operations were conducted before 2009 and explained him the way peace was restored, paving way for reconstruction, rehabilitation, reconciliation, resettlement and reintegration in the country.

Lieutenant General Senanayake appreciated the US Admiral’s contribution to the Colombo Defence Seminar and thanked him for participation by presenting him a token of goodwill and appreciation.

Two more US delegates attending the Seminar were also associated with the meeting.
