UPDATE: 58 More to Leave for Their Homes after Quarantine Process

All measures to arrest transmission and prevention of COVID-19 virus in the country are being adopted by health sector officials and members of the tri services, led by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), by Military Spokesman Brigadier Chandana Wickremasinghe this morning (1) on behalf of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated.

A total of 58 individuals upon completion of quarantine process at tri service-managed ITI-Gannoruwa (41), Agriculture holiday bungalow - Gannoruwa (01), Nations Building - Kundasale (01), Cooperation Centre - Kundasale (01) and Nipuna Bossa (14) Quarantine Centres are ready to leave for their native places after conduct of PCR tests today (01) with Quarantine Certificates. By today (01), a total of 11,488 quarantined individuals from tri service-managed QC have left for their homes.

As of now, 5,108 persons are still in quarantine in 44 island-wide QCs, run by tri services. By today (01), heroic sailors of the Navy confirmed positive to the COVID-19 virus stands at 754 in total. In the past 24 hours, 04 more sailors were confirmed positive to COVID-19 infection, of them 403 after full recovery and PCR tests were discharged from hospitals.
