On the eve of completion of 11 years after eradication of LTTE terrorism, the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation’s (SLRC) popular ‘Nugasevana’ talk-show this morning (18) had Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army and the Head of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID 19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva to talk on ‘National War Heroes’ Day’ which reminiscences heroic gallantry and unparalleled sacrifices of tri service War Heroes, Policemen and Civil Security Department personnel as the main contributor to the TV programme.
During the discussion, Lieutenant General Silva in a moving gesture recalled how peace-loving people of all ethnicity during the peak of the humanitarian operations blessed all War Heroes by holding varieties of blessing ceremonies, pooja, prayers, masses, etc. “Let me bow down and pay my highest gratitude to all those who invoked blessings on us at that critical stage of our history. Such blessings are never forgotten,” he remarked.
