UNIFIL Commander Visits Injured Soldier in Tyre

Lieutenant General Aroldo Lazaro Saenz, the Head of Mission and Force Commander of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) along with Contingent Commander of the Sri Lanka Force Protection Unit (SLFPU), visited the Jabel Amel Hospital in Tyre, Lebanon on 12 October 2024. He inquired about a soldier injured during a conflict while on force protection duties at UNIFIL HQ in Naqoura.

During his visit, Lieutenant General Lazaro Saenz expressed his concern for the injured soldier and sought updates on his treatment progress. He also met the hospital's medical authorities, emphasizing the importance of high-quality care for UNIFIL personnel. Before leaving, he presented the soldier with a UNIFIL coin in recognition of his commitment and dedication. Additionally, he commended the medical staff for their efforts and encouraged them to continue their vital work in providing care to injured personnel.
