UN Rep Assesses Contingent Equipment in 14 SLFPC in Lebanon

The inspection of the 1st Contingent Owned Equipment (COE) of the 14th Sri Lankan Force Protection Company (SLFPC) of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) took place on 16 June 2023 at the Sri Base camp premises in Greenhill, Naqoura, Lebanon.

The purpose of the quarterly inspection was to assess the serviceability of equipment provided by the Sri Lankan authorities to the SLFPC and also to ensure the continued performance standards set out by the UN as stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed between the government of Sri Lanka and the UNIFIL for the duration of the deployment of such equipment in the UNIFIL.

Accordingly, the set of main equipment provided by the government inclusive of containers, combat vehicles, support vehicles-commercial pattern, support vehicle-military pattern, armament, ammunition, logistic equipment and self-sustainment were evaluated and assessed by a team headed by the UNIFIL Logistics Officer, Mr. Volodymyr Olekha in close coordination with all Officers of the 14 SLFPC who have been designated for each task.
