The Contingent's Own Equipment (COE) inspection of the Sri Lanka Combat Convoy Company serving the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) got underway at Gao Super Camp on Tuesday (25 July 2023) with the participation of United Nations officials.
The COE inspection is held quarterly to verify whether sets of major equipment and self-sustainment provided by the troop contributing country are carried out as per UN standards. During the inspection, vehicles, weapons, ammunition, medical, accommodation, welfare facilities and all other equipment were closely checked by the visiting UN inspection team, Mr. Jorge Soares, Mrs. Nela Carapic, Mr. Abdoulaye Toure and Mrs. Fatima Guillen in accordance with provisions in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
The 5th Combat Convoy Company (CCC) of the Sri Lanka Army, the newest contingent has been engaged in peacekeeping operations in Mali since 01 July 2023.
