A UN delegation currently in Sri Lanka on tour on Wednesday (29) called at the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) with a view to receiving an update on multi-faceted community services and development projects, being carried out by the troops in the SFHQ-J.
The 4 member team, headed by Mr Jean-Paul Laborde, Executive Director, Counter Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate (CTED) met Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-J and discussed the roles and tasks being performed by the troops for the betterment of the civil community and empowerment of women in the peninsula.
Commanding Officer, 7 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps, Major Chandrika Rajaguru during the meet, gave a briefing to the UN delegates on various projects that have been launched on behalf of woman-headed families in the peninsula.
