Ms. Agnes Asekenye-Oonyu, Head. of office, Sri Lanka UN office for the coordination of Humanitarian Affairs during a visit to the Wanni recently met Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W).
The talks centred on "Joint Needs Assessment Survey on Returnees" in the Northem Province. The UN official for Sri Lanka praised the efforts that are being taken by the SFHQ-W in resettling Internal Displaced Personnel and also the continuous assistance, being provided by the troops to uplift the living standards which directly would contribute towards the long-term peace and reconciliation process in post-war scenario of the country.
