Two War Veterans Commence Foot Pilgrimage from Nagadeepa to Kataragama Kirivehera

With the sheer intention of showcasing their spirited morale, bravery and courage that sustain among all disabled War Heroes who sacrificed their legs and limbs for defence of the Motherland and those still serving, two retired veterans, Private (Retd) R.W.V Piyathissa of 2nd Battalion Gajaba Regiment of the Army and the Chief Petty Officer (Retd) M.B.W Kumara of the Sri Lanka Navy jointly commenced a foot pilgrimage to Kataragama from Nagadeepa temple in the Jaffna peninsula on Friday (22).

Both retired veterans expect to finish their determined vow after reaching Kataragama Kirivehera temple within a few days assuring that nothing would be impossible for them too, although they turned disabled having fought against LTTE terrorism several years ago.

Inspired by the gesture, the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya showed up and encouraged their historic expedition on the way. Army troops and locals on both sides of the roads lined up and greeted them as they continue to walk along in the company of their friends and well-wishers who joined the walk motivating them.

At the starting point, the Chief Incumbent at Nagadeepa Viharaya blessed both determined veterans during a brief ceremony, attended by the General Officer Commanding, 52 Division, Deputy Director Rehabilitation, Commanders of 512,513,523 and 552 Brigades, Commanding Officer at 'Elara' Navy Camp, Officers of Sri Lanka Army and Navy and Other Ranks in both forces. best Running shoes brand | Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG University Blue - Gov
