Two New Books Authored by General Kamal Gunaratne Released

New books, ‘Thaarage Aagamanaya’ (තාරාගේ ආගමනය) and the English version of ‘Kadol Eththu’ (කඩොල් ඇත්තු), authored by General D.G.H Kamal Gunaratne (Rtd) WWV RWP RSP USP ndc psc Mphil, Secretary to Ministry of Defence were released on Thursday (7 September) during a ceremony at the author’s alma mater, Colombo Ananda College.

The maiden copies of both books were presented to Hon President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Hon Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena during the ceremony.

The author, General D.G.H Kamal Gunaratne (Rtd) also awarded copies to Mrs Lali Kobbekaduwa, the spouse of Late Lieutenant General Denzil Kobbekaduwa and Mrs. Manel Wimalaratne, the wife of Late Major General Vijaya Wimalaratne as tributes to the memory of those veterans of the Sri Lanka Army war history.

Members of the Maha Sangha, Mr Sagala Ratnayaka, Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor to the President on National Security, parliamentarians, foreign diplomats, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, Principal, Colombo Ananda College, renowned scholars, senior state officials and invitees were also present.
