Two More Senior Brigadiers Promoted to Next Rank

HE the President Maithripala Sirisena, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces has promoted two more Senior Brigadiers of the Army to the rank of temporary Major General, states a communiqué issued by the Military Secretariat on Thursday (24) evening.

Brigadier K.A.W Kumarapperuma of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR), currently serving as the General Officer Commanding 65 Division in Kilinochchi has accordingly been promoted to the rank of temporary Major General, effective from 28 January 2019.

Brigadier G.W.D.K Jayathilake of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) who is the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 12 Division at present has also been promoted to the rank of Major General, effective from 29 January 2019.
