Two-Day Long Maiden 'Kukuleganga Speed Climb-2021' Flagged Off

The newest chapter to the Army driving and riding, 'Kukuleganga Speed Climb 2021', the stunning motoring feature that attracted more than 120 top class riders and 80 racing drivers flagged off this morning (10) to compete along the newly renovated road patch. The event continues on Sunday (11) too as the final segment.

Organized jointly by the Army Motor Sports Association and the Motor Racing Association of Sri Lanka, the thrilling and exciting motor sporting event for the first time in pictresque Kukuleganga area after its inauguration along Motor Racing Track Saturday morning had 10 motor bicycles races with 70 riders and 3 car races with 25 drivers.

The fully-carpeted new racing track in the hilly areas of Kukuleganga runs in the climb to showcase the adventurous recitation and provides a platform to push Drivers and Riders beyond their average performances, to achieve the best of the best and greatest records through their skills and talents. The track runs 900 m up to the mount, with 10 m in width and 60 degree gradient and consists of 7 corners, comprised of 2 sharp bends

Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Chairman of Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Association, Major General Wasantha Madola as the Chief Guest for its maiden inauguration flagged their start and attended the day's distribution of certificates and awards to those who vied in the first rounds.
