Tug of War Championships Clinched by Army Men & Women Players

In the Open Tug of War Championship, held at Pugoda Bodirajarama School premises on Saturday (26), Sri Lanka Army 'A' and 'B' teams and Sri Lanka Army Women’s teams won 1st places and runners up slots beating 26 island-wide teams, including Navy, Police, Civil Security Department and civil sector teams.

The competition organized by the Pugoda Double Sports Club gave the 1st place and 3rd runners up win to the players in the A and B teams of the Army after showing colours in several rounds of the Championship tournament. They vied in the 640 kg weight category and excelled beating rival teams.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Army Women’s teams clinched the 1st and 2nd places under the 560 kg weight category in the same tournament.
