Troops Walk in Jaffna to Commemorate Army Anniversary

A few hundreds of officers and soldiers of the 512 Brigade of the 51 Division under the Security Force Headquarter - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) joined a pleasure walk on Sunday (13) in order to commemorate the 67th Army Anniversary.

Under the programme, troops of 17 Gemunu Watch (GW) commenced its walk from Bastian Junction in Jaffna while troops of 14 Gajaba Regiment (GR) and 2 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment began their walk from Thirunelveli and Kalliyankadu respectively at the same time.

All three groups finally met with one another at Jaffna Sri Nagavihara premises and wended their way to the Jaffna Fort before the event came to an end a few hours later.

More than 360 Army personnel participated in the walk with the blessings of the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna. Civil Coordination office in Jaffna has organized the event.
