Troops Volunteer to Renovate House of Deserving Family in Oddusudan

The Security Force HQ-Mullaittivu as one more civil-military cooperation project completely renovated a dilapidated house of a deserving family in the general area of Oddusudan and vested it in back to the beneficiaries during a brief ceremony on Monday (30).

At the request of Major General Jagath Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces - Mullaittivu, several donors from the South, Mrs Imali Dabare, Mrs Akila Nawarathne and her family members and Mr Kapila Witharana, Managing Director BPP Metal Construction volunteered to foot the cost of raw materials, needed for its complete renovation considering the humanitarian aspect.

The renovated house at Sinnasalamban village in Oddusudan was vested in the family by the Chief Guest, Major General Jagath Rathnayake after brief warming rites and rituals.

Colonel Tiron de Silva, Commander, 643 Brigade and Colonel Priyangika Kulathilake Colonel General Staff of the 64 Division coordinated the financial costs of materials on behalf of the donors on the request of the General Officer Commanding, 64 Division Major General Ajith Pallawala.

Troops of the 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the supervision of the Commander 642 Brigade Brigadier Prasanna Wijesuriya provided much-needed manpower for construction work with the coordination of Lieutenant Colonel G.A.M Wickramasinghe, Civil Affairs Officer of the 64 Division.

Staff of 64 Division and 641 Brigade, and Troops of 14 Sri Lanka Singha Regiment also donated some essential items to the deserving family on the same day.

Brigadier Janaka Jayawardana Commander 641 Brigade, some government officers, Police officers in Oddusudan Police station, Senior Officers and troops were associated with the ceremony which was done in line with social distancing best practices. Buy Kicks | Men's Footwear
