17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops of the 653 Brigade under the 65 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) in response to an outcome of discussions during a recent civil-military cooperation meeting, held at the SLLI in Thunukkai reconstructed the road patch between Alankulam and Wasanthapuram by using a motor grader, provided by the Pradeshiya Saba in Thunukkai.
On the directions of Major General Sampath Kotuwegedara, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi and Major General Hemantha Bandra, General Officer Commanding of the 65 Division, the reconstruction work was completed under the supervision of the Commander, 653 Brigade.
This event was initiated as a follow-up of the discussions that took place between the Commander of the 65 Division and the Divisional Secretary and other Government Officers on 11 August 2020 during the CIMIC Conference at the HQ premises of the 17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry in Alankulam.
