In response to a request made to the 563 Brigade HQ for assistance, a two-digit number of Army personnel, including Officers provided support for the concrete slab-laying construction work of the monks' residential quarters (Aawasageya) at Sapumalgaskada Rajamaha Viharaya in Bogaswewa on Sunday (12).
With the blessings of the Commander Security Forces-Wanni, 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops of the 563 Brigade under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 56 Division actively assisted laying of concrete mixture for the slab (about 1800 sq ft) in the 'Aawasageya' under construction at this ancient temple. The collective 'Shramadanaya' lasted for about five hours and the task was completed to the best satisfaction of the engineers and the incumbent monk.
