In the wake of resurgence of the threat of COVID-19 epidemic, Jaffna troops on Thursday (22) launched a complete sterilization programme in the Jaffna Teaching Hospital compound, Bazaar Street and surrounding areas, adjacent to the township, frequented largely by crowds as a precautionary measure.
More than 50 Army troops using necessary spray equipment and other needs sterilized the passages of wards, hospital surroundings, roadways, and crowded areas within a few hours as per guidelines given by Major General Priyantha Perera, Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna.
