Following flash floods in Gampaha District on 03 June 2024, troops of 6 Field Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and the 8 Sri Lanka Light Infantry conducted a rescue and relief operation under the instructions of Major General S.W.M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander, Security Forces – West and supervision of Commander of 141 Infantry Brigade.
The troops undertook critical tasks to assist the affected population, including evacuating flood victims to safety places, distributing food and essential supplies, ensuring the continued provision of vital services in the area.
