Troops at SFHQ-KLN Educated on Waste Management

A special lecture on disposal of garbage and waste management in a more productive manner was delivered at the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Friday (28), following a request made to the Agricultural Training School at Paranthan.

To be in line with the instructions, issued by the Presidential Secretariat with regard to the recycling of garbage at all state institutes, Ms Shakila Bhanu, Director, Agricultural Training School at Paranthan educated the troops serving the SFHQ-KLN on techniques of proper stacking of garbage, production of carbonic manure, effective methods for disposal, etc.

The initiative in this regard was taken by Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, Security Forces - KLN in consultation with the Agricultural Training School as the subject was becoming more and more prominent.

Troops numbering over 130 attending the occasion were equally educated on separation methods of garbage and specific procedures to make it a profitable business venture.

Brigadier General Staff, SFHQ-KLN and several Senior Officers also listened to the lecture.
