The Security Forces Headquarters - East (SFHQ-East) organised a Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival on 8 April 2025 at the SFHQ-East playground. The festival included traditional games such as pillow fighting, pot breaking, tug-of-war, bun-eating contests and balloon-blowing competitions.
Major General P.R Pathiravithana USAWC psc, Commander of Security Forces (East), graced the event as the Chief Guest. Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and their families participated in the festival.
Meanwhile, the 24 Infantry Division proudly hosted its New Year Festival on 10 April 2025 at the Division Headquarters premises.
Mr. Chinthaka Abeywickrama, the District Secretary, along with Major General H.C.L. Galappatthi RSP USP, the General Officer Commanding of 24 Infantry Division graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Under the guidance of Major General H.D.L.S Lalith Perera RWP RSP ndc, the General Officer Commanding of 22 Infantry Division, the troops of 22 Infantry Division organised a Sinhala and Tamil New Year festival on 09 April 2025 at the 22 Infantry Division premises.
Meanwhile, the troops of 23 Infantry Division organised a New Year Festival on 18 April 2025 at the Division Headquarters premises under the guidance of Major General P.S. Subath Sanjeewa RSP nps psc, General Officer Commanding of 23 Infantry Division.
Meanwhile, under the guidance of the Commandant of the Combat Training School (CTS), Brigadier M.P.S.P Kulasekara WWV RWP RSP, the troops of CTS organised the Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival on 27 April 2025 at the CTS sports ground, with the participation of Officers, Other Ranks and civilians in the area.
The General Officer Commanding of the 24 Infantry Division graced the event as the Chief Guest.
