Troops serving 11 Division under Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C) quickly responded to the damages, caused by inclement weather and torrential rains that swept across Kandy, Nawalapitiya, Talwatta, Meepitiya, Cholakanda, Rajapihilla Mawatha, etc in the Central province and restored transport and other infrastructure facilities in the past three-days.
Troops immediately acted and cleared those obstacles within a couple of hours. Troops of 1 and 2 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps and 2 (v) Sinha Regiment, serving under III Brigade rushed to the intersection at Kandy-Mahiyanganaya road, Kandy-Hatton road, Nawalapitiya-Dolosbage road and Rajapihilla road in Kandy and removed boulders, soil mounds, trees, etc and immediately restored facilitation of vehicle movements.
