In response to a request made by the Vavniya Blood Bank, more than 250 officers and other ranks of the 61 Division in Vavuniya voluntarily came forward to offer their blood for the benefit of patients receiving treatment at the Vavuniya Hospital on Wednesday (18).
Dr T. Voleena Dissanayaka of the Blood Bank unit of the Vauniya Hospital together with several members of the medical staff assisted the project.
Brigadier D.M.W.W.W.M.R.B.M Daulagala, General Officer Commanding 61 Division and a few senior officers also participated in this event.
