The Ollukkuliya Reservoir in Navaghattagama was on the verge of overflowing due to heavy rains and adverse weather conditions. Under the supervision of the Commander of the 143 Infantry Brigade, 70 troops engaged in stacking sandbags to prevent the reservoir banks from splitting.
Additionally, troops from the 21st Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment successfully restored the Puwakpitiya Sri Sanghamitta Monastery, which was severely affected by flooding caused by the inclement weather conditions.
