2nd Battalion Gajaba Regiment troops serving the 221 Brigade Headquarters under 22 Division in Trincomalee with the intention of promoting the livelihood of a family in Abhayapura area completely renovated a dilapidated house at a cost of about Rs 51,000/=, belonging to a poor family.
Troops after observing the plight of a poor family in the area renovated the house in which they were living after collecting a sum of Rs 51,000/= from different donors including Army officers and soldiers.
Keys for the newly renovated house were handed over to the family on Thursday (2) during a brief ceremony, attended by senior officers, state officials and a large gathering of donors.
